Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube may be returning with a third 21 Jump Street film now in early talks.

24 Jump Street is reportedly in the works at Sony Pictures, with Rodney Rothman directing a script written alongside Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy, as per Deadline.

Returning to the franchise, Phil Lord and Chris Miller will produce after directing the first two movies, with Neal H. Moritz also back as producer.

The film is also being produced by Channing, 46, and Jonah, 42, along with Reid Carolin and Matt Dines.

Inspired by the 1987–1991 Fox series, 21 Jump Street (2012) and 22 Jump Street (2014) center on Schmidt (Jonah) and Jenko (Channing), who go undercover in high school to bust a drug ring.

The second installment took the action to a college campus, with the franchise surpassing $500 million at the global box office.

In 2014, amid early talks for a third film, the Step Up star voiced hesitation about reprising his role again.

Speaking with USA Today, he stated, "I feel like that would be a cop-out."

Continuing, “College was the obvious next step for us. We had to go there. I don’t know what the next step is after college. Do we go and take down Enron? Or the government in D.C.? I feel like it’s all redundant.”

“The big running joke of the second movie is this is just going to be bigger … than the first time. I don’t know if that joke works three times, so we’ll see," Channing added.
