Late actor James Handy’s cause of death is confirmed to be a stab wound to the torso and neck compression, as per the Los Angeles authorities.

According to PEOPLE, reported on June 12, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office shared the medical examiner's record, which showed homicide as the cause of death.

Previously, on June 3, when the news was headlined, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said Handy’s girlfriend’s son, Michael Gledhill, fatally stabbed him outside a home in Tarzana.

Michael used to live with Handy and his girlfriend, Wendy Gledhill, at the home.

Reports had previously stated that police responded to the scene after a person called 911, saying, "I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin."

Upon arriving at the scene, officers said Gledhill approached them and allegedly identified himself as the individual they were seeking.

Authorities found Handy in the front yard with a stab wound. He was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Gledhill was taken into custody and subsequently charged with murder, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Handy enjoyed a career spanning several decades across film and television, earning credits in Top Gun: Maverick, K-9 and NYPD Blue, among other productions.
