Imtiaz Ali, director of the most talked film of the town Main Vapas Aaunga, has unveiled how it felt like working with the legendary Naseeruddin Shah and also shared the reason the legend accepted the role.

Shah plays the role of Ishar Grewal, an elderly Sikh man whose mind keeps on drifting between the present and the painful past because of dementia, while his grandson Nirvair tried to decode his grandfather’s incoherent words.

According to Ali, the 75-year-old actor’s talent still doesn’t need any validation as his acting speaks for itself.

While speaking to NDTV, the Tamasha director said, “Naseeruddin Shah never needed to wait for me to prove that he is one of the best artistes of this country. In fact, he is the best actor in the country.”

Imtiaz further disclosed that Naseeruddin really liked Amar Singh Chamkila and became a fan of Diljit Dosanjh.

“He accepted the role itself is a big deal for me. He accepted the role because he liked Amar Singh Chamkila and Diljit’s work in the film.”

As per the director, people will get to witness Shah in a role never seen before.

“He has kept that passion alive and that is why he is Naseeruddin Shah. He has played so many roles but we had never seen him in the character of a Sikh. With this film, we got to see that too. And, he has looked really beautiful in the turban”, said the Rockstar creator.
