Peter Heppelthwaite who is famously known for his roles in EastEnders, The Green Green Grass and Only Fools and Horses-related productions has died at the age of 59.

The actor’s death was announced by his representatives at Apollo Artist Management who paid tribute to him as a talented performer, mentor and friend. No cause of death has been revealed.

In a heartfelt statemen, the agency said Heppelthwaite was a “hugely gifted actor, director, teacher and mentor” whose warmth and generosity extended far beyond his work on screen and stage.

They added that he brought humour, compassion and dedication to every project and had a unique ability to make people feel supported and valued.

“He brought humour, heart and complete commitment to everything he did,” the statement read, adding that his influence reached generations of performers, particularly young actors finding their confidence in the industry.

His daughter Georgia Hewer-Heppelthwaite also shared an emotional tribute following his passing.

Describing her father as someone who “never gave up” and lived life to the fullest she said he passed away peacefully while holding the hands of his loved ones.

“Everyone who knows dad will know that this is a man who never gave up, loved deeply, and was just unafraid of doing absolutely everything to the fullest,” she wrote.

Georgia asked friends and fans to remember him by sharing stories and memories that would bring smiles during a difficult time for the family.

Born in London Heppelthwaite graduated from the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art before landing his first television role in Two Point Four Children.

He later appeared in a number of popular British television shows, including EastEnders, Coupling and The Green Green Grass.

He became particularly well known for playing Jedd in The Green Green Grass the successful spin-off of the beloved sitcom Only Fools and Horses appearing in 30 episodes alongside John Challis and Sue Holderness.
