Singer Sonu Nigam has shared that he has been dealing with a painful nerve-related health issue over the past week, saying the condition has left him in discomfort and required continuous medical treatment.

The 52-year-old  spoke about his health in a video posted on Instagram, where he explained that he had undergone several MRI and CT scans and has been taking medicines for the problem.

He also showed a patch placed on his shoulder while talking about his recovery.

"My nerves are pinched. I have been taking MRI and CT scans for a week. I have been taking a lot of medicines," Sonu says while showing a patch on his shoulder.

He also said that physiotherapy has been one of the toughest parts of his treatment.

"Physiotherapy was very painful. I am taking painkillers now. Due to that, my throat is also a little heavy," the Apne singer said.

According to the Dil Dooba vocalist, the medicines prescribed to relax his muscles have also affected his throat, which is an added challenge for someone who sings live. Even so, he chose not to cancel his scheduled performance in Mumbai.

He shared the video with the caption, “13th June, Mumbai ”, and said he wanted to perform despite the pain as it had been a long time since he had taken the stage there.

Sonu Nigam began his music career at a young age after getting his first break from Gulshan Kumar.

Over the years, he became one of the most recognised playback singers in India, recording more than 5,000 songs in different languages.

He has delivered popular tracks such as Yeh Dil Deewana, Suraj Hua Maddham and the National Award-winning title song from Kal Ho Naa Ho
