Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha has recieved positive news after his match-defining play in the opening match against Spain.
After the first match, the player revealed that his mother could not make it to US due to visa issues.
“She didn’t manage to be here because of the visa … the money we have to pay for the visa,” he said.
Now, State Departmenet has stated that they are putting in efforts to bring his mother to US so she can witness her son play.
The official said “The US Department of State has no record of this individual applying for a visa. All relatives of players are eligible for visa bond waivers, and the Department is actively reaching out to this player’s family to assist with visa services,” as per CNN.
The 40-year-old gained global recognition for neutralising the football mammoth nation’s threat with his skills.
Due to his efforts, the match ended in a draw on Monday.
