Bella Hadid has revealed the heartbreaking realities of living with chronic Lyme disease, which continues to deeply affect her everyday life.

On Thursday, June 25, the 29-year-old supermodel took to her Instagram Stories to candidly discuss a recent flare-up related to her diagnosis.

Hadid kicked off the social media update with a lengthy message, sharing how "intimidating" it is to talk about her symptoms of pain, exhaustion, fatigue, anxiety, brain fog, infections, and trauma, and how they can lead "to severe isolation and depression, especially over long periods of time."

"Especially when you try anything you can," she continued, revealing that she has read extensively about self-diagnosis and symptoms in hopes of finding answers, only to continue experiencing setbacks.

The Saint Laurent model explained, "You demand answers that no one can find. You fight. You finally have a few good days. You think you've found the right protocol, the right routine, the right treatment... and then a flare up comes back and all of a sudden nothing feels certain again."

According to Hadid, flare-ups make it difficult to commit to plans because she "never" knows how she will feel from one day to the next.

"You wake up with anxiety already living in your body. Physical pain before your feet even touch the floor....And somehow, still have to find the strength to move through another day in a body and mind that are completely exhausted," she added.

Bella admitted that she has learned to cope with her unexplained feelings by concealing them, noting, "Sometimes it feels like unless you've lived something like this, or loved someone who has, it's impossible to fully understand."

Keeping her spirits high, she went on to show love and solidarity to others dealing with similar issues, writing, "There is light, even if you can't see it today... There is hope."

"I have so much gratitude for life, but without living in a body that has more rough days than good... It's hard to find joy or purpose or reason to even go outside...but we will keep trying! Always!" the Ôrəbella founder remarked.

Toward the end of her message, Bella offered words of hope and support.

"You are loved. You are needed. Your life has purpose. And you will make it through every season life puts you through...love you and hold you deeply," she concluded.

The Prada model went on to share more personal reflections and emotional images in the following Stories, explaining that simple daily tasks such as bathing can cause her to faint.
