Suniel Shetty's praise for PM Modi sparks backlash on X
Suniel Shetty is getting trolled after his statement that 15 month old granddaughter loves Narendra Modi goes viral on the internet
Actor Suniel Shetty has become the center of chatter not because of his newly released film Welcome To The Jungle, but due to his recent interview.
The 64-year-old expressed his love for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to praise him, he went to that extent, which didn’t sit well with many on the internet.
During the conversation, the Mohra actor recalled that his granddaughter, Evaarah, was first introduced to PM Modi by her nanny at an airport, and since then, she has been fascinated by him.
He affectionately said, “I have always said I am a huge fan of him. I am not talking about a party, I am talking about a leader. If a leader excites me, he excites me. As much I love my country, I love my man. There is something about him.”
He added, “My granddaughter is 15 months old. Once, at the airport, one of her nanny told her about Modi ji. Now, every morning, she opens a Sai Baba book which also has a photo of Modi ji. She says ‘Modi ji’. She gets sweets from Ganpati ji’s idol at home and offers it to that photo. I did not ask her to do this, neither did her parents ask her to do this. There is something about this. There is something magical,"
This part of his interview went viral over X (formerly Twitter), where netizens were trolling and criticizing the Dilwale star.
An X user reacted to his statement as, "Imagine having so much wealth & still raising your children to be idiots. It explains a lot of Bollywood kids tbh."
A reaction reads, "What on earth is that kid’s upbringing? You’re making the child worship a man as if he’s God. This is brainwashing at its finest."
Another decoded the reason behind the actor's statement, "You don’t know the pressure on him. He has to save KL Rahul’s place in the Indian cricket team. His new movie is out and it’s already failing, and you never know how big the file is."
A person reacted, "This is brainwashing. Brainwashed youth contributed a lot to 5% vote win that BJP had in Bengal. Unemployment is a factor too — but show me one BJP state that improved employment."
A netizen shared his two cents, writing, "I thought only his acting skills were terrible."
Some advised Suniel’s son-in-law, KL Rahul, “apni beti ko uske Nana se dur rakh bhai.” “North Korea level stuff,” another commented. A reaction read, "god created sanghis so that we all can laugh at them."
This is not the first time Suniel has expressed his immense admiration for the Indian Prime Minister.
