Disneyland Paris has been forced to make major operational changes after an extreme heat wave swept across France leading to the temporary closure of several outdoor attractions and entertainment offerings.

The resort has confirmed that a number of outdoor rides have been suspended as temperatures continue to soar with guests reporting widespread disruptions to their visits.

The situation intensified after representatives from the UNSA Disneyland Paris union said they recorded a ground-level temperature of 51 degrees Celsius (123.8 degrees Fahrenheit) in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle on June 25.

In a statement shared on X the union said "This isn't an estimate. It's what our representatives measured today on the ground."

It added "While thousands of Guests and especially Cast Members were navigating these conditions, your UNSA Disneyland Paris representatives were there. Together. Not to take a photo. To see. To measure. To document."

As a result of the extreme conditions several outdoor attractions including Big Thunder Mountain, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop have temporarily stopped operating. Outdoor walkthrough attractions have also been affected.

The heat has already forced changes to the resort's entertainment schedule. Fireworks planned for Disney Adventure World's Disney Cascade of Lights were previously removed after French authorities raised concerns about wildfire risks during the heat wave.

Guests have shared on social media that attraction availability has been changing throughout the day with many relying on the Disneyland Paris app for updates.
