Salman Khan leaving Galaxy apartments after 50 years?
Salman Khan got approval to build a new six-storey building in Bandra's Chimbai area
In the Bollywood film world, not only are stars and their films popular but their residences are also quite well-known among fans and this is the same case with superstar Salman Khan, who lives in Galaxy Apartments.
This is the place he has called home since 1974 and lives with his family, however, according to recent media reports, the 60-year-old is set to relocate after 50 years.
The Dabangg Khan just got approval to build a new six-storey building in Bandra's Chimbai area, not too far from where he currently lives.
The approval came from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority on June 16.
Interestingly, the plot itself is registered under his mother Salma Khan's name. There used to be an old two-storey house on the land, dating back to before 1956, but it got torn down after it became unsafe to use.
The new building's going to have a ground floor, stilt parking, and six floors on top of that, roughly 1,014 square metres in total built-up area. Sach Developers is handling construction.
This development is not sudden, either, the project already got preliminary approval (an IOD) from BMC back in October 2025. Now with MCZMA's clearance too, it's basically cleared to move ahead.
One thing worth noting, as part of the environmental conditions, no trees on the property will be cut down. Instead, they're planting new ones, all local species.
All this comes a couple of years after that firing incident outside Galaxy Apartments, allegedly linked to the Bishnoi gang, which led to the Wanted star's security being ramped up. He's currently under Y+ protection.
As the new place is on a quieter lane, away from the main road, that's expected to give the family a bit more privacy, and tighter security too.
Though reports suggest, there's no official word yet on whether he's actually shifting there once it's done.
