Randeep Hooda has opened up about rejecting Salman Khan’s advice while reflecting on his career.

The actor, known for his intense performances in Bollywood, spoke at length about turning down the Dabangg star’s advice to build a consistent heroic screen image.

In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the Murder 3 alum revealed why he chose to take a more challenging path as a versatile actor instead of prioritising stardom early in his career.

He told the outlet: “Salman Khan’s main advice was not to take on roles where I did not look heroic. It’s good advice… My father also says the same thing. Then he said, ‘You should look the same and do the same kind of roles, which will help you build an image and become a star.’”

In addition, he also explained why he chose to forge his own path rather than pursue conventional roles.

“I did not follow that advice because I’ve always felt that repeatedly playing the same thing is boring. And that’s something I never wanted to do,” he added.

Despite their differing views, Hooda and Salman Khan have starred together in Kick, Sultan, and Radhe.
