Nara Smith has shared a heartbreaking update about her two-year-old daughter's health.

On Wednesday, July 1, the 24-year-old social media influencer took to her Instagram account to reveal that the real reason behind her recent online absence was her daughter Whimsy Lou's devastating cancer diagnosis late last year.

After doctors confirmed the diagnosis and revealed that the cancer had spread, Whimsy immediately began chemotherapy treatment.

In an emotional video, Smith offered a candid glimpse into one of the most difficult periods of her life, as she navigated her postpartum recovery while caring for her sick daughter.

"Processing this and navigating all of this as a family has been really hard. A lot of you have probably realised that I've been posting a little less, and this is the reason why," she said.

The TikTok creator continued, "Having found all of this out and navigating this while postpartum, also loving and caring for our other kids at home, also being in the hospital with Whimsy a lot and balancing work on top of that has been really challenging."

She added that she has been doing her best to stay present, even on the hardest days.

"When we took her into our pediatrician, I just remember him going really quiet and calm... My heart dropped in that moment. I don't know whether it was my gut telling me something or just a mom's intuition, but the first thing that I felt was, 'She has cancer,'" Smith recalled.

She noted, "After a lot of X-rays, ultrasounds and finally a biopsy, they immediately called us and said that she had cancer, told us it had spread, and that she needed to come in and start chemotherapy immediately."
