Tom Holland has unveiled how Christopher Nolan asked for his permission before casting Zendaya in The Odyssey.

The couple is all set to collaborate for the first time with The Dark Knight director in the upcoming film based on Homer’s poem.

The star cast of the movie is currently busy with the promotions of the film. In one of the interviews, the Spider-Man actor revealed that Nolan came to him first to ask if he would mind him casting wife Zendaya for the role of Athena in the Greek Epic.

While speaking with Access Hollywood, the 30-year-old explained, “At my meeting with Chris, he asked me a question. He said, “Do you mind if I ask you a question and please don’t be offended by my asking?” And I thought he was going to ask me like, “Can we put like lift in your shoes or something make you taller?”

“I didn’t know what he was going to say. And he went, “Would you be offended if I asked you to play Athena? I was like, “Why would I be offended?”

Holland told Nolan that he would be honoured if he would cast his wife in the film.

He went home and asked Zendaya to read the script of movie again and this time read the Athena role really closely.

The Odyssey starring Matt Damon, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Tom, Robert Pattinson and Charlize Theron is slated to release on July 17.
