Kriti Sanon reveals bold decision she made during ‘Mimi’
Kriti Sanon opens up about the best gift she gave to herself while preparing for the role of a pregnant woman
Actor Kriti Sanon has revealed that she took an unusual advantage of her film Mimi, for which she had to put on some weight.
The 35-year-old diva is currently enjoying the success of her film Cocktail 2 and recently reflected on the film that won her a National Award, Mimi, in which she played a surrogate mother.
Speaking on the Humans of Bombay podcast, the Crew actress revealed that while she was preparing for the role of a pregnant woman, she made one of the biggest decisions of her life and froze her eggs.
Kriti said, "I froze my eggs. Very smartly, I did it during that time when I had to gain weight for Mimi. It makes you bloat, and I was anyway gaining weight."
The Shehzada actress said that this had been on her mind since someone suggested that egg freezing was “the best gift" she could give herself if she had the option.
So when she was about to work in Mimi, she thought to take the opportunity to make that decision.
The Heropanti actor said freezing her eggs while preparing for Mimi made practical sense, as the procedure involves hormonal injections, which can cause temporary bloating.
"This is a film of surrogacy, so let me just do it because I felt everything. There is a point when you feel almost like hormonally disrupted, almost like a pregnant woman. Your mood swings are going off the charts. So, I did it, and I am glad I did it, because I don't want to have that in my head," she said.
The Do Patti actress further noted that fertility can become more challenging with age and described egg freezing as a difficult but worthwhile process, adding that the egg freezing process was not easy, but it was worth it.
