France beat Paraguay on July 5

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan’s world cup post after France beat Paraguay has sparked massive criticism.

France knocked Paraguay in a thrilling encounter in the Round of 16 match securing their spot in the Quarter Finals.

The Kylian Mbappe-led side won the match in a thrilling 0-1 victory.

After the match, the movie star tweeted, which read in part “the French WC 2026 football team .. the FRENCH !! 11 players in team .. 10 Black .. !! 1 white !!? the POWER of BLACK.”

The post stirred up a discourse which against the legendary actor who was accused of reducign the national player down to their race.

Netizens argued that the players are representing their nations on the international stage and should not be associated and identified beyond that as it can cause a conversation with racial discrimination.

The match also prompted an offensive statement from Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla. Mbappe responded to the senator with a strong statement which was backed by masses as well as the French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron.
