Jasbir Jassi has publicly defended the Punjabi star

Jasbir Jassi is the newest person to come forward in support of Diljit Dosanjh amid the ban on his recent movie Satluj.

Taking to Instagram, Jasbir shared a statement questioning the authorities why the movie was banned.

In his video, he praised director Honey Trehan and Diljit for selecting a sensitive subject.

“I don't think any of the old films have been discussed so much. First of all, I would like to congratulate Honey Trehan. Paaji, you chose this topic, Khalra Sahib's topic, and chose a topic for the benefit of Punjab. You chose a topic for the benefit of humanity. Congratulations to you.”

He added that t was a topic for the “benefit of Punjab”.

Satluj, formerly titled Punjab 95, was removed from ZEE5 in India just 48 hours after its release.

The movie is based on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, who was abducted and killed in 1995.

As of now, the film is available to global audience but is facing heavy censorship issues within India.
