Indian actor Diljit Dosanjh agreed to do his most recent film, Satluj, without ever reading the script.

For the Punjabi star, Satluj was a no brainer, because of its plot.

The movie, which was formerly titled Punjab 95, has been making headlines after it was removed from ZEE5 two days after being released.

The movie’s director Honey Trehan revealed that the actor agreed to be a part of the project without ever knowing the script.

The filmmaker met Diljit on the sets of Udta Punjab where he pitched the movie to him.

He shared “Even before I told him I wanted to make a film on Jaswant Singh Khalra, he immediately said, ‘There's only one story from Punjab worth making if it isn't about 1984.’”

The movie chronicles the life, abduction and death of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

“He looked at Mr Khalra's photograph, picked up the book, placed it on his forehead and simply said, ‘Waheguru ji... tell me when and where to come. You'll find me there.’”

The movie was released on OTT platform after a three-year battle with Central Board of Film Certification but was banned within two days.
