Adam Sandler turned to an unexpected source for help finding a basketball game just days after officiating the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

The actor, known for his love of basketball, had already been spotted playing pickup games in New York City on July 3, hours before presiding over Swift and Kelce's wedding. Less than 48 hours later, Sandler was back on the court during a holiday trip to Nantucket, Massachusetts.

According to the Nantucket Current, Sandler called the Nantucket Police Department's non-emergency line after arriving on the island to ask where he could find a public basketball court.

“Sandler said, ‘Hey, I’m here on your island and I like to play basketball. Can you tell me where there’s a basketball court I could play on?’ ” public safety dispatcher Chris Reynolds told the outlet.

Reynolds directed the actor to the Backus Lane court off Surfside Road, where Sandler joined a pickup game with local players.

Andrew Kesler, who was playing at the time, recalled the surprise encounter. “Adam Sandler rolled in a car and started playing pick ups with the boys,” he said. “He’s like ‘guys let me stretch I’m going to hop in.’ ”

Kesler also shared his assessment of Sandler's performance on the court, describing it as “Great passing and playmaking, decent lay-ups, hesitated to shoot the ball.”

The outing once again highlighted Sandler's long-standing enthusiasm for basketball, a hobby he has frequently pursued while travelling and filming around the country.
