Friendships in the film industry often change with time, and Indian filmmaker Ahmed Khan recently spoke about his long association with Shahid Kapoor while clearing the air about reports of a fallout between them.

Ahmed recalled that he had known Shahid since childhood. He said he had first worked with the Jab We Met actor as a choreographer on the music video Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra before collaborating on several other projects over the years.

Looking back at their professional journey, Ahmed said, “I did Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra and his first film Ishq Vishk as a choreographer. Then I directed him in a film called Fool & Final.”

The Baaghi 2 director also mentioned that he later produced Paathshala, in which Shahid appeared.

Speaking about why they had not worked together recently, Ahmed explained that both of them had been choosing different kinds of projects.

“After that, I produced Paathshala in which he played a role. But in the recent years, he's following a certain template of films that he wants to do. I, on the other hand, am making a certain kind of films that I want to make,” he said.

The Heropanti 2 director added that he remained open to working with Shahid again if the right project came along.

“We'll work together again when we come together. We'll come together when we're on the same page about the kind of films that we want to do. I know that if I take a script to him at that time, he'll jump into it. But at this point, it's a fifty-fifty scenario,” he said.

Addressing reports about distance in their friendship, Ahmed said they did not meet often because their lives had changed over the years.

“I mean, we don't meet that much. We are childhood friends. We became friends when I was 11 and he was all of 7. So, our friendship started some 30 years back. But this profession brings many new people into your life. Our lifestyles have changed now,” he said.

On the work front, Ahmed had recently directed Welcome To The Jungle, while Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Cocktail 2.
