Gracie Abrams has opened up about the power of a pixie cut and how it makes her feel the most like herself after debuting the hairstyle at Paris Fashion Week in January 2026.

During a conversation with Olivia Rodrigo for Spotify’s Countdown To series, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter reflected on her evolving hairstyles over the years.

“As someone who just loves you and watches you, I feel like your style has never been cooler. Like, love your haircut so much,” Rodrigo, 23, said. “How does that play into things? Is that an afterthought sort of thing, or is it something that you were thinking about while you were making the record?”

Abrams replied, “I was certainly not thinking about anything visual. Everything that comes outside of the writing is like extra to consider...”

“I think more than anything, I have found as I have continued to cut my hair off, I feel more like myself,” she continued.

The That’s So True hitmaker noted that she used to embrace dresses as part of a previous “tour aesthetic,” but admitted she is unsure whether she’ll “ever perform in a dress like ever” moving forward.

She added, “In this decade, things change quick, and you’re just finding out who you are in front of people. It’s interesting — and I have, like, no hair left to put a bow in!”

Despite moving away from that style era, Abrams shared that she still has “so much soft fondness” for those moments.

Gracie Abrams is set to release her highly anticipated third album, Daughter from Hell, on July 17. The record includes 16 songs on the standard tracklist, while the Target exclusive edition will feature an additional track titled Crazy Girl.
