The makers of Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story have dropped the first look of the upcoming biopic, featuring lead actor Rajkummar Rao.

In the poster, which was released on the birthday of the former Indian skipper, the 40-year-old actor recreated Ganguly's well-known shirt-waving celebration from the Lord's balcony after India's NatWest Trophy win over England in 2002.

The Talaash actor not only reenacted the moment, but his look was also visibly changed to match the former Indian captain’s appearance.

However, neither the  Ragini MMS star’s new look nor the poster itself sat well with netizens, with speculations that it was not an original photo but an AI-generated picture.

 Consequently,  the comments section filled with trolling.

A user commented, “At least take a paid subscription of the AI tool before creating the poster”

Another comment reads, “Ohmygod. Was this made by a child who’s learnt Photoshop last night?”

A fan directly addressed Sourav and suggested, “Dada inse rights wapas lelo!!!”

Expressing his disappointment, another user wrote, “Pls no ! Sir pls remove bahot fake lag rha he pls 29 second huve he abhi pls remove."

Even a person offered his services, "Not in bad way, with all due respect I can design it better. It deservs better."

The makers also announced the film’s theatrical release date: 14 May 2027.
