Rajesh Sharma taken to the hospital after health scare
A suspected insect bite on the set of Prabhas' upcoming film has landed actor Rajesh Sharma in a Kolkata hospital, as per Telegraph Online, who reported the unexpected health scare.
Actress Sudipa Chatterjee released a statement on Instagram explainging the situation and revealed that the 55-year-old actor was talking to local technicians near a thick vegetated area when he reportedly felt a sharp bite, believed to have come from an insect or possibly a poisonous spider.
Not realising that the bite was serious initially, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor carried on without seeking treatment.
However, almost six hours later, he reportedly experienced severe pain in his right leg and started feeling quite sick.
Even as his condition took a turn for the worst, Rajesh chose to travel all the way to Kolkata.
The flight then reportedly took a toll on his health as the actor developed a high fever before being hospitalized the next day.
It has been reported that he is under close observation and is being monitored by doctors for possible complications as he continues to battle high fever, breathlessness and a rapidly progressing infection in his right leg.
"We sincerely thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support especially the media, the Bengal Motion Pictures Artists’ Forum, Rajesh’s friends and well-wishers, and above all, Shri Prosenjit Chatterjee, who has been a constant source of guidance and support during this difficult time," Sudipa said, appreciating those who showed their support.
