Charles Barkley reveals why he turned down Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce's invitation
Although Charles Barkley wasn't in attendance at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, the NBA legend revealed he was invited to the star studded celebration.
Speaking on Unfiltered with Ricky Bo and Bill Colarulo on July 6, the 63-year-old former professional basketball player said his absence came down to one personal rule: he doesn't "go to weddings or funerals."
“But I did get an invite, and I politely declined because I thought it was going to be a crap show,” he admitted. “I love Travis and Jason, and I have only met Taylor once. But I said that is just too much. I just want to hang out and play golf, and I don’t want to dress up and all that other stuff. But I appreciate the invitation, it was pretty special.”
On July 3, pop sensation Taylor Swift and football tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs Travis, exchanged vows before approximately 1,000 guests at a lavish wedding ceremony inside New York City's Madison Square Garden.
Charles isn't the only one who boldly turned down the invite to their wedding.
On July 6, Ryan Seacrest explained that he first said yes to the invitation, but scheduling conflicts with work got in the way.
"I RSVP’d to go, and then Disney hired me to do the 4th of July 250 special on the 3rd and the 4th, so I had to cancel," he revealed On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
