Lady Gaga is recognised for her sixth Emmy nomination, but this time it's a choreography-first anthem which launched Gaga into Wednesday’s world.

The Oscar-winning global pop star received the nod in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category for The Dead Dance, a gothic song that she wrote for Tim Burton’s Netflix series Wednesday.

Co-written and produced by Gaga alongside Andrew Watt and Henry Russell Walter, better known as Cirkut, The Dead Dance featured in the second-season Wednesday episode Woe Me the Money, accompanying a Venetian Gala sequence with Enid (Emma Myers) and Agnes (Evie Templeton).

Gaga later released a standalone music video for the track.

The nominee song at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards, where it will compete against entries from The Boys, Hacks, The Pitt, South Park, and Spider-Noir.

The nomination marks Gaga's fifth Primetime Emmy nod, following recognition for One Last Time: An Evening With Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga, her Super Bowl LI Halftime Show, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga: Cheek to Cheek Live! and The Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden.

She also won a Sports Emmy in 2025 for music direction during her Super Bowl LIX pre-game performance of Hold My Hand.
