The makers of Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story unveiled the film's first-look poster on Sourav Ganguly's birthday and confirmed that the biopic would arrive in cinemas on May 14, 2027.

Soon after the poster was released,  Ganguly shared a video message on social media to thank fans for the birthday wishes he had received from across India and other parts of the world.

He said, “Thank you everyone for these sincere birthday wishes. It makes me feel so humble year after year that I get so much of love and affection from so many people all around the country and the world.”

Ganguly also spoke about the film and praised Rajkummar Rao for portraying him on screen.

“Today it’s been the launch of the first look of my biopic. Rajkummar, I think he’s done an incredible job and it makes it even more special because it takes me back to the 2002 NatWest final and the Lord’s Balcony which is recreated by Rajkummar and the cast and the crew of my biopic,” he said.

He concluded his message by once again thanking fans for their support.

“So once again thank you so much for my birthday wishes and as I said it makes me feel incredibly humble year after year,” Ganguly added.

The film was based on Ganguly's journey from a young cricketer to one of India's most successful captains. It was directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg. The project was presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, T-Series and DBL under the Luv Films banner.

The makers had announced that Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story would release in theatres worldwide on May 14, 2027.
