Nagarjuna, Tabu reunite after 28 years for 'King100'
Tabu is stepping into the antagonist's shoes this time
One of Telugu cinema's most beloved on-screen pairs is finally getting back together after 28 years and it is going to look a little different this time.
Tabu is set to reunite with Nagarjuna in his landmark 100th film, tentatively titled King100, directed by Ra. Karthik.
Their pairing is also getting a lot of attention because the two have been rumoured to be dating for over a decade, though they have never confirmed or denied it.
The big twist about their latest collaboration is that Tabu is reportedly playing the villain this time around a far cry from the romantic roles that made their earlier pairing so iconic.
The two first shared screen space back in Sisindri, though that was just a brief cameo from the Maachis actress, who appeared as herself in the comedy that also marked Akhil Akkineni's acting debut.
Their real on-screen chemistry came alive in Ninne Pelladata, directed by Krishna Vamsi, a romantic drama about two young lovers navigating family pressure.
The film became a massive box-office hit and even won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu. Audiences absolutely loved them together.
Two years later, they reunited again in Aavida Maa Aavide, a comedy-drama loosely inspired by the Hollywood film My Favorite Wife, where the 66-year-old actor's character found himself caught between Tabu and Heera Rajagopal.
It turned out to be their last film together for nearly three decades.
Now the duo is back, and with the 54-year-old actress stepping into the antagonist's shoes this time.
King100 is already generating serious buzz among fans who've waited a long time for this reunion.
Over the years, both have gone on to build remarkable careers across multiple languages. Tabu in particular has delivered some of Indian cinema's most acclaimed performances, in films like Maqbool, Haider, Maachis and Fitoor.
