Bonnie Tyler passes away at 75
Grammy nominated singer Bonnie Tyler has unfortunately passed away.
She was 75.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by her team, who shared a statement on her Facebook.
"Bonnie's family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for," the statement read.
Continuing, "We will issue a further statement shortly but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy."
This sad update comes shortly after she was admitted in the hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she underwent emergency intestinal surgery.
However, it was later reported on May 7, that the Total Eclipse of the Heart hitmaker had " put into an induced coma by her doctors to aid her recovery."
People shared their sorrow under the heartbreaking statement, with one remembering her legacy, saying, "Your voice was one of a kind, your songs timeless, and your legacy will never fade. Thank you for the music. Turn around, bright eyes… your voice will echo through generations. Rest in peace, Bonnie."
"You will be missed and thank you for your beautiful music," another wrote. "Condolences to the family."
