Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox have revealed their favorite romantic comedies while promoting their new holiday film 'Merv'
Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox have opened up about their favourite romantic comedy films as they promote their new holiday movie Merv, now streaming on Prime Video.
In an exclusive interview with People, Deschanel described the 1989 classic When Harry Met Sally as an obvious choice for her top pick and said she also loves early screwball rom-coms such as It Happened One Night and Bringing Up Baby, which helped define the genre.
Cox chose America’s Sweethearts as his favorite, describing the 2001 ensemble comedy starring Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones as a “core memory” from his first trip to the United States at age 17.
The pair appear together in Merv, a romantic comedy that follows a recently separated couple trying to cheer up their shared dog during a holiday road trip.
The film also stars Chris Redd and Patricia Heaton, with a rescue dog named Gus in the title role.
Deschanel and Cox’s discussion reflects their personal affection for the rom-com genre and its enduring appeal, especially as audiences seek feel-good stories around the holidays.
