Comedian Harry Hill has shared an awkward but funny moment he experienced at the BAFTA Awards involving Keeley Hawes.

Speaking about his career Hill said he has learned that not everyone finds his humour funny and one moment from the BAFTAs stuck with him.

But what happened after the show is what he still remembers.

Hill said he later overheard Hawes telling Hoult that she had never found anything he said funny.

Instead of taking offence Hill said he found the moment amusing and took it in stride.

He added that it was far from the harshest reaction he has received over the years.

The comedian also pointed to another instance during one of his ITV specials where he expected a warm reaction from celebrity guests but was met with a much cooler response.

Hill rose to fame with Harry Hill’s TV Burp which drew millions of viewers at its peak.

Despite the show’s success he said it didn’t necessarily make him the richest comedian and the demanding schedule often left him exhausted.

Before entering entertainment Hill trained as a doctor but chose to pursue comedy following a personal loss in his family.

Now he says he prefers a quieter life with his wife Magda Archer and their two dogs.

While he still writes jokes he admitted he does not miss the constant spotlight that once came with his career.
