Chappell Roan has praised Miley Cyrus for inspiring her confidence, saying the pop star paved the way for her self-expression.
The Hannah Montana star was one of the most famous child star who turned into a pop star and took unconventional path with her music.
Miley’s red carpet appearances, fashion choices and public attitude set her apart from her peers and her childhood persona.
Speaking during the Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special on Disney+, Chappell said “You literally walked so I can run. What I do on stage, like when I can go on a red carpet and just be.”
The singer, who has previously made headlines for standing up to photographers, has also received public support from Miley amid the pressures faced by young artists in the spotlight.
The Flowers singer defended her in the past saying it’s tough to be a young artist with social media pressures.
Recently, Chappell was in headlines for allegedly upsetting Brazilian footballer Jorginho’s stepdaughter Ada, who is the biological child of Jude Law and Catherine Harding.
