Fans of Ghosts can expect the unexpected in season 6, as the beloved CBS comedy gears up for another surprise filled chapter.

At Comic-Con on July 24, showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman teased what's next for Ghosts, following the season 5 finale that left Pete's (Richie Moriarty) future uncertain.

They urged fans to be patient, revealing that Pete's ongoing crisis won't necessarily be resolved at the start of the new season, as per Deadline.

Despite the tease, the showrunners kept most details about Pete's fate under wraps.

While the next full season doesn't premiere until spring, viewers can look forward to hourlong Halloween and Christmas specials arriving this fall.

"In the Halloween special, which is our first ever hourlong, we’re gonna meet Hetty’s sister, her mustachioed sister Margaret, who’s been referenced several times in the show,” Wiseman revealed, as he was met with cheers. He also added that the character would be 'sort of unusual.'

“She’s gonna be a type of ghost that we have never seen,” he added.

Fans can also expect a Die Hard inspired Christmas special, with Port saying the iconic action film is what he imagines Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and Trevor (Asher Grodman) would both love most.

The surprises don't stop there, as Wiseman shared that the ghost boundary will be a significant focus throughout season 6.
