Ryan Gosling's entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ghost Rider has earned the seal of approval from none other than his wife, Eva Mendes

On Sunday, July 26, following the major announcement at Marvel Studios' San Diego Comic-Con panel, the 52-year-old former actress took to Instagram to share a fan-made edit featuring clips from The Place Beyond the Pines, paired with the newly revealed Ghost Rider logo.

The video's creator wrote alongside the original edit, "From this intro only, I thought Ryan Gosling can be a perfect casting for the Ghost Rider role."

Mendes accompanied the repost with the caption, "Love, Roxy," a tribute to her Ghost Rider character, Roxanne Simpson, from the 2007 film starring Nicolas Cage.

She also shared another post on her Instagram Stories featuring clips of her and Gosling's scenes from The Place Beyond the Pines, calling it "Ghost Rider in a parallel universe" and expressing gratitude to the creator for showcasing "this beautiful parallel universe connection."

The Hitch actress' sweet nod to her husband came shortly after Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed at Comic-Con that Gosling will make his MCU debut as Ghost Rider in a forthcoming standalone film.

Following her posts, fans began speculating that Mendes could reprise her role as Roxanne Simpson and star alongside the Oscar-nominated actor in the upcoming Ghost Rider film. However, Marvel has not announced her return, and her recent posts stopped short of confirming any involvement.
