Rob Reiner’s death has had a profound impact on Hollywood, as Saturday Night Live remembered the actor by paying him a heartfelt tribute after he and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were brutally murdered.

On the December 20 episode of the hit comedy show, a memorial card featuring a nostalgic image of the late actor was displayed ahead of the show’s final segment.

The homage honoured Rob’s connection to SNL, as he hosted the show’s third-ever episode in October 1975, shortly after the series premiered.

Ariana Grande and Cher hosted the final episode of SNL in 2025 as the musical guests, which also marked Bowen Yang’s final appearance as a cast member.

For those unversed, Rob and Michele were stabbed to death on December 14 by their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, in their Los Angeles residence.

The couple’s bodies were discovered by their daughter, Romy Reiner, who immediately contacted the police.

Nick, who has struggled with drug issues on and off, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

He appeared in court on December 17 wearing a suicide-prevention smock and shackles.

Nick Reiner’s next court hearing is scheduled for January 7, 2026.
