Sadie Sink shares who knew about her top-secret ‘Spider-Man’ role first
Sadie Sink has long kept her Spider-Man: Brand New Day role a secret but not from everyone, she admits.
On Monday, July 27, the Netflix breakout star opened up about maintaining secrecy of her MCU role during the film’s Los Angeles premiere while speaking to PEOPLE.
“I’m kind of a vault, so it wasn’t that hard,” Sink told the outlet. “And I don’t know, I was mostly just so excited to join this universe. So I was fine with keeping a secret for a year and a half or however long it’s been.”
However, the reality is the Stranger Things star wasn’t hiding it from everyone. Sink admitted that she spilled her Spider-Man secret to some close ones.
“My family knew, my friends, close friends knew, but yeah, just not the press,” she shared.
Asked whether anyone had correctly guessed her character to her face, Sink said it had happened before, though she managed not to give anything away. She added, “But that happens all the time online.”
Marvel kept details of Sink's character under wraps, prompting fans to speculate online about her role. Popular theories suggested she could portray Jean Grey, potentially introducing the X-Men to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or Spider-Man favourite Gwen Stacy.
Others believed she might play Mayday Parker, Peter Parker's daughter, or Rachel Summers, the telepathic daughter of Jean Grey and Cyclops.
