'American Idol' gets exciting update
The search for the next American Idol is about to begin.
ABC has given a go ahead for Season 25 and auditions are set to start next month.
People can audition for the singing competition starting from August 25, when the virtual "Idol Across America" search begins across all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
Contestants will first start their American Idol journey by auditioning for the show's producers before getting the chance to perform in front of the judges.
Willing participants who can not attend their state's scheduled audition will have the option to submit a video audition instead.
Season 24 of American Idol ended with Hannah Harper taking home the title in May.
Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood served as judges in the 24th season.
Ryan Seacrest once again took on the hosting duties for the competition in the previous season.
