Miley Cyrus teases new ‘love story’ album inspired by her life
‘A reflection of where I am in my life,’ Miley Cyrus says revealing her new album
Miley Cyrus has revealed that her next album will centre on love.
Speaking with actress Daryl Hannah for Wonderland in an interview published on Monday, July 27, the 33-year-old singer shared that the yet-to-be-announced record explores the many layers of love.
“This album is a love story, but love stories are never one-dimensional. They’re always layered. There is definitely a romantic thread weaving through it because, like all my records, it’s a reflection of where I am in my life,” Cyrus said.
The singer, who is engaged to musician Maxx Morando, added that the album “feels especially meaningful because this feeling has stayed with me through multiple eras.”
“That’s something I hadn’t really experienced before. A peaceful kind of love has become a theme across my last three records,” she continued.
Cyrus said the project reflects not only romantic love but also the relationship she has built with herself.
“That’s probably been the biggest evolution. Once your relationship with yourself changes, every relationship around you changes too. I think this record celebrates both of those equally,” she said.
Describing love as “dynamic and complex,” Cyrus added, “It’s something we can feel deeply with our hearts even if we can’t always explain it with our minds. To me, love isn’t something we have to intellectualize. It’s a cellular understanding.”
While Cyrus has not officially announced her 10th studio album, Wonderland reported that she shared several tracks with Hannah ahead of the interview.
