New details of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner’s tragic deaths have been revealed.

On Tuesday, December 23, PEOPLE obtained the official death certificates of the late couple, which confirmed that they died of "multiple sharp force injuries" inside their Los Angeles residence.

The time between the onset of injuries and death is listed as "minutes."

According to the documents, Rob was found first at about 3:45 p.m., followed by Michele at 3:46 p.m.

The couple has since been cremated after their bodies were returned to the family on December 19.

Rob and Michele’s middle child, Nick Reiner, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is being held without bail.

Jake and Romy, their other two children, broke their silence about the sudden deaths of their parents in a statement.

"Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day," the siblings wrote. "The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends."

Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner were found dead on Sunday, December 14.
