Kanye West drops latest album ‘Bully’ in midnight livestream after controversy swirl
“BULLY ON THE WAY NO AI,” Kanye West declared before unveiling the album
Kanye West has unveiled his long-delayed album Bully through a surprise livestream.
The update comes just days after pushing back on claims that artificial intelligence played a major role in the project.
The 48-year-old rapper premiered the album on YouTube in the early hours of March 27 pairing the release with a black-and-white short film of the same name.
Directed by West the visual features his son Saint in a boxing ring fending off a series of aggressors.
The livestream itself was later unlisted making it accessible only through a direct link.
West first began teasing Bully in September 2024 shortly after releasing Vultures 2.
Tracks including “Preacher Man” and “Beauty and the Beast” had already been previewed on social media and during live appearances.
The album features collaborations with Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign, CeeLo Green and others while continuing West’s signature use of samples.
Among them are The Supremes’ “You Can’t Hurry Love,” which appears on “I Can’t Wait,” and Stevie Wonder’s rendition of “Close to You,” sampled on “White Lines.”
Additional samples include tracks by The Moments, Jonah Thompson and The Mad Lads.
During the livestream West also played several of his earlier hits including his 2010 track Runaway alongside songs from other artists.
The release comes amid ongoing discussion about the use of AI in his music.
Earlier this week West shared the album’s tracklist on X with the caption: “BULLY ON THE WAY NO AI.”
His statement followed previous comments in which he compared AI to Auto-Tune calling it “a tool, not a replacement.”
