Cardi B scores huge court win as personal life with Stefon Diggs turns messy
The ‘I Like It’ rapper prevails in copyright case filed in 2024
Cardi B has secured a major legal victory following recent personal turmoil, including her sudden split from NFL star Stefon Diggs
According to a report published by TMZ on Monday, March 30, the 33-year-old rapper and her record labels successfully defended themselves against a copyright infringement lawsuit alleging unauthorised use of another artist’s work.
Who filed the case against Cardi B?
The case was filed in July 2024 by Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar, who perform under the name Kemika 1956.
They claimed that the Bodak Yellow hitmaker and her producers used elements from their 2021 track, Greasy Frybread, in her March 2024 single, Enough (Miami), without permission.
However, U.S. District Judge Fernando Rodriguez Jr. ruled there was insufficient evidence for the court to hear the case.
“Plaintiffs do not demonstrate that Almanzar targeted Texas for concert performances, rather than simply including Texas venues within a broader concert tour in numerous states,” the judge wrote.
He added,“Almanzar’s performances in Texas are not distinct from her performances in those other states, rendering the concerts in Texas insufficient to establish general jurisdiction.”
As a result, the Texas federal court found it lacked personal jurisdiction and that the plaintiffs failed to state a valid claim.
Inside Cardi B and Stefon Diggs’ romance
The ruling comes weeks after Cardi confirmed her split from Stefon during a performance in Los Angeles on February 15, 2026, as part of her Little Miss Drama Tour, reportedly due to alleged infidelity.
The pair went public with their relationship in June 2025 after months of speculation and welcomed a baby boy in November the same year.
