Dory is swimming back onto screens as Ellen DeGeneres is set to voice her role again in a new short from Pixar’s Finding Nemo world, as per Deadline.

Plot details for the untitled short remain tightly under wraps, with no additional creative team announced and release plans still unconfirmed as production gets underway.

Taking to Instagram on April 24, the 68-year-old retired comedian, and television host confirmed her part in the project by sharing a screenshot of Deadline’s article.

"Excited about this," she wrote in the caption.

Fans reacted to the news by taking to the comment section, with one delightfully saying, "That’s such good news! We miss you Ellen."

"So excited Ellen to see you making a comeback! You have been missed! Love you Ellen! I can hardly wait to see this!" another said.

Fans were first introduced to Dory, the forgetful blue tang fish, in 2003’s Finding Nemo, which follows clownfish Marlin as he searches the ocean for his missing son Nemo.

The 2016 sequel Finding Dory centers on Dory’s emotional quest to find the parents she lost long ago.
