The issue between Ranveer Singh and the makers of Don 3 now looks calmer. The actor has reportedly paid the producers to cover the losses after stepping away from the film midway.

The project was first seen as a big and exciting team-up between the 40-year-old actor and Farhan Akhtar.

But things didn’t go as planned, and Ranveer exited the third part of the Don franchise during pre-production, prompting the producers to approach the Producers Guild of India, asking for compensation for the money already spent.

Reportedly, the Dhurandhar star paid around Rs 10 crore to settle things. There’s also talk that he may give the makers a share in his next film, reportedly titled Pralaay.

On the other hand, after reports of a settlement, the 54-year-old has now spoken about the situation in an interview with  Hollywood Reporter

Sharing what he took from the whole episode, the filmmaker-actor said, “What I've learned is to expect the unexpected. Nothing can be taken for granted until you actually have it on film. That’s really what it is.”

He also added that his journey in films has mostly been smooth, but moments like this do come up.

Talking about the ups and downs, the 120Bahadur lead said, “It has just been about working with the people I want to work with, whether directing them or acting in films that I want to act in with directors."

"And it has been amazing. You realise that at some point, there will be a period that’s going to be a little bit more challenging. You have had it good, so it’s okay… Just take it in your stride,” he further said.

Farhan announced to direct a threequel in the popular Don franchise three years ago, in which Ranveer had replaced Shah Rukh Khan as the titular character.

After the pre-production was wrapped by early 2026, it came to light that the Padmaavat actor was no longer a part of the film

As per chatter, the success of Dhurandhar, Ranveer is said to be rethinking his choices and avoiding similar roles back-to-back.
