Spoiler Warning!

With 9-1-1 entering season 10, the cast is reflecting on their characters’ journeys and revealing what they want to see happen next.

In chat with Us Weekly, at the Disney Upfronts 2026 red carpet earlier this week, Oliver Stark, who plays Evan “Buck” Buckley on the first responders show, opened up about his character, saying, "Based upon the ending of season 9 for myself, I think (Buck) has come into a lot of new responsibility in his life, and it’s going to be a battle to see quite how he juggles all of that and contends with his work.”

Since the pilot episode, the 34-year-old British actor's character has grown a lot, most recently beginning a new chapter in the season 9 finale by becoming the legal guardian of 4-year-old Theo.

Ryan Guzman confessed he’s unsure where Eddie Diaz will go next, though he’s already thinking about what he’d love to see happen.

"If I could pick, I would love to have Eddie revisit his army days somehow, someway," he admitted. “Or get a love interest."

While a potential love interest for Eddie may divide viewers as many fans continue to root for a Buck romance, and the 38-year-old admitted a Buck–Eddie relationship would likely make “a lot of people happy.”

While fan theories continue, Oliver made it clear the actors aren’t writers, noting they “just play the scenes as they come,” and reflects on how “meaningful” the “Buddie” reaction has been for him and Ryan.

"We love how invested the audience is in that relationship, whatever you view it as. And we play it as it comes and as authentically and truthfully as possible,” the Into the Badlands actor said.

After Henrietta “Hen” Wilson’s season 9 journey through dermatomyositis, a rare and serious autoimmune condition, Aisha Hinds says the world of 9-1-1 always leaves room for surprises.

"I couldn’t tell you where [Hen is] going,” she playfully stated. "I mean, she went to space, she lost all faculties, like, she surfaced again. Where do we go from there? I don’t know!”
