Joan Cusack spotted at Toy Story 5 premiere after 11 years
Joan Cusack stepped away from spotlight to focus on her family a decade ago
Joan Cusack made a rare return to the red carpet this week attending the London premiere of Toy Story 5 in what marked her first major public appearance in more than ten years.
The actress reunited with several longtime Toy Story cast members at the UK launch event including Tom Hanks who voices Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Tony Hale, Greta Lee and director Andrew Stanton.
Cusack reprises her role as Jessie the energetic cowgirl character she first voiced in Toy Story 2.
The 63-year-old actress arrived in a simple but elegant black-and-white outfit, pairing a white dress shirt with a flowing black skirt and thick-rimmed glasses. She completed the look with a short bob hairstyle and posed for photos alongside castmates and her husband Richard Burke.
The appearance marked Cusack’s first major red carpet event since the 2015 Emmy Awards where she won Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in Shameless.
Despite being a familiar face in Hollywood throughout the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s Cusack has largely stepped away from the entertainment spotlight in recent years to focus on family life in Chicago with her husband and their two sons.
The actress previously explained that living outside Los Angeles helped her family avoid some of the pressures associated with Hollywood culture and celebrity life.
Cusack is also known for her acclaimed performances in films including Working Girl and In & Out both of which earned her Academy Award nominations.
Her appearance at the Toy Story 5 premiere sparked excitement among longtime fans of the franchise many of whom welcomed the nostalgic reunion of the film’s original voice cast.
