Imran Khan has shared his thoughts on actors who choose to remain apolitical while attending the ongoing NEET students' protest in Mumbai.

The actor joined the demonstration in support of protesting students, where he spoke about the relationship between art and personal conviction in a video shared by aspiring actor Riya Jana on Instagram.

Addressing fellow artistes, Khan said, “True art is going to have an individual artist’s point of view embedded within it. And as part of our human nature, we are going to have opinions and perspectives that we hold through to ourselves.”

 “If you can’t stand by your opinions and if you do not pour your own heart into your art, your art has no value,” he continued.

Khan's remarks appeared to encourage actors and creators who avoid political conversations to embrace their own perspectives instead of separating them from their creative work. He suggested that authenticity is what gives art its meaning and lasting impact.

The comments came as the actor participated in the ongoing NEET students' protest in Mumbai, where demonstrators have been voicing their concerns over issues related to the examination.

His statement has since gained traction on social media, with users debating the role of artists in public discourse and whether public figures should speak out on social and political issues.
