Karishma Tanna recently took a trip down memory lane and recalled how fans often confused her with Tamannaah Bhatia.

The 42-year-old actress, who rose to prominence with her role in the television series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, opened up about the hilarious incident in a viral video.

During her appearance on a recent episode of Double Date, Karishma shared that she was once mistaken for the Stree 2 star.

Speaking to Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, she  said, “We went on a holiday and the funniest thing happened. We were in Switzerland and a few fans were following us. They knew she was a celebrity but couldn’t recall her name. They were hovering around us for around 45 minutes. Then, they finally gathered the courage to approach us, and asked Karishma, ‘You are Tamannaah, right?’ The other fan said, ‘See, I told you na, she is not her’ and they left. I thought, ‘But she is Karishma!’ They didn’t take photos, just walked away.”

The vlog surfaced shortly after Karishma and her husband, Varun Bangera, embraced parenthood with the arrival of their son on Wednesday, July 29.

Taking to Instagram, they penned, “Born on the sacred day of Guru Purnima. Our greatest blessing is here. Welcome to our world, little one.”

For the unversed, Tamannaah is currently gearing up for her upcoming films, including The Vvaan: Force of the Forest and Ranger.
