Sanjay Dutt recently shed light on one of the most painful chapters of his life as he opened up about losing his mother to cancer just days before the release of his debut film.

The 67-year-old actor, who made his acting debut with the 1981 film Rocky, reflected on his mother Nargis Dutt’s battle with pancreatic cancer.

During a recent conversation on the AIG Hospitals YouTube channel, the Khal Nayak star recalled how his father, Sunil Dutt, sent him back to complete the shooting of his debut film while his mother was in a coma.

Speaking exclusively, he said, “My film was about to release as well, so that was another pressure. My father sent me back to complete the film while my mother was in a coma. At that time, I just couldn’t understand it, why complete the film when my mother was in a coma? But anyway, I did that and came back. I saw her fighting. I think she just wanted to come back home somehow. She kept fighting until she came back, and once she was home, she gave up the fight. We lost her after she returned here.”

It is pertinent to mention that actress Nargis passed away at the age of 51 in 1981 after battling cancer, while Sunjay lost his father in 2005 following a heart attack at the age of 75.

On professional front, Sanjay was recently seen in the two-part franchise Dhurandhar.
