Saif Ali Khan recalls major mishap ahead of ‘Haiwaan’
Saif Ali Khan reflects on 'Agent Vinod' ahead of 'Haiwaan' release
Saif Ali Khan recently took a trip down memory lane and reflected on how Agent Vinod turned out to be a disappointment ahead of the release of his upcoming film Haiwaan.
The 55-year-old actor, who played the titular RAW agent in the 2012 film, revealed that the project was made on a massive budget.
During his conversation on Rotoris’ YouTube channel, Saif candidly opened up about the failures he has encountered throughout his acting career.
Reflecting on Agent Vinod, he said, “We produced a film, Agent Vinod. We had just had a successful production company. We could have made anything and we got vast budgets to make it. It opened well, but didn’t really work. That was a failure, we learnt. We produced it well, we did good music. Films fail all the time, but the effort of making them… We had to learn various skills and kind of do stuff. We had gone to Vietnam to learn a certain kind of martial art. In our business, it’s a failure at the moment, but if you worked hard, you learned or picked something up, it’s still ok.”
Earlier in June, the Cocktail star had described Agent Vinod as a vanity project.
It is pertinent to mention that a few days earlier, Lalit Parimoo had alleged that interference from the film’s lead actors, Saif and Kareena Kapoor, contributed to its failure.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Agent Vinod also featured Adil Hussain, Ravi Kishan, and several other actors.
Meanwhile, the Race actor is currently gearing up for his upcoming film Haiwaan, alongside Akshay Kumar. The film is slated for release on Friday, September 11.
