R Madhavan recently opened up about the privileges his son, Vedaant Madhavan, enjoys because of his father’s stardom.

The 56-year-old actor, who shares son, Vedaant, with his wife, Sarita Birje, admitted that there are better swimmers than his son who do not receive the recognition they deserve.

During his chit-chat session with Behindwoods TV, the 3 Idiots star said that his stardom has played a pivotal role in his son’s life.

Speaking to the outlet, he explained, “Along with Vedaant, there are many swimmers in India who are even better than him. But because they aren’t my son, they don’t get as much spotlight. Wherever I go, people talk about him because he is my son. I told him only one thing: ‘Stardom is a very dangerous thing, my friend. You got it at a very young age. Learn how to handle it because it comes and goes, and mental peace shouldn’t be affected.’”

It is pertinent to mention that Vedaant is currently training in Ahmedabad with the Indian contingent for the Asian Games.

Despite relocating to Dubai for his son’s future, the Shaitaan actor has continued to pursue his acting career in Indian cinema.

Madhavan is currently gearing up for the release of Krishnakumar Ramakumar’s Tamil biopic, GDN, which is slated to hit the big screens on Friday, August 7.
