Ranbir Kapoor recently sparked a wave of excitement among fans after revealing that the highly anticipated Ramayana could evolve into a “ten-part” saga.

The 43-year-old actor, who is currently making headlines for portraying Lord Rama in the upcoming film   Ramayana, said the mythological drama requires ten parts to do justice to its story.

In an exclusive conversation with The Direct, the Animal star revealed that it was challenging to condense the much-awaited project into just two parts.

Speaking to the outlet, he said, “To be honest, to tell Ramayana, you probably need a 10-part movie, but the kind of conciseness in two parts was very hard.”

Ranbir’s comment that drew widespread attention was his revelation that 50% of Ramayana: Part Two has already been filmed.

He added, “We’re already 50% down shooting Part Two even before the first part is released, because it’s a continuing story.”

His statement came shortly after the four-minute trailer was unveiled last week.

The trailer generated widespread speculation, with many viewers questioning Ranbir’s portrayal of Lord Rama.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part epic, with the first installment slated for release on Diwali 2026.

The film also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
