Primary Waves now acquires the rights of Britney Spears catalog, which includes hit tracks like Oops!... I Did It Again and ... Baby One More Time.

As per reports by The Hollywood Reporter and TMZ, the superstar sold off her rights to the most iconic music catalogue to the music company.

The catalogue has more hit songs like Gimme More, Circus, and Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman, among others.

Primary Wave is one of the most-active companies in the catalog acquisition space, having previously purchased catalogs from the likes of Stevie Nicks as well as the estates of Prince and Biggie Smalls. A rep for Primary Wave declined to comment.

On December 30, 2025, the 44-year-old pop star sold her publishing rights to Primary Wave Music in a deal reportedly worth a low nine-figure sum, on par with Justin Bieber’s $200 million sale.

Sources say she’s overjoyed, celebrating the milestone with her two sons, especially following her recent decision to retire from performing in the U.S.

Primary Wave, a leading player in the music catalog acquisition space, has previously bought catalogs from artists like Stevie Nicks, as well as the estates of Prince and Biggie Smalls. A spokesperson for the company declined to comment.
